March 11, 2004Air America
Years and years late, but better late than never, Democratic and progressive-leaning voices will be talking back on the right wing wacko-dominated airwaves. Air America Radio is just about ready to go live.
On March 31, 2004 Air America Radio begins airlifting entertaining, progressive talk radio to millions of Americans who for far too long have been and are being neglected by talk radio broadcasters today.Rumor has it that Franken will call his show "The O'Franken Factor" which is amusing. I don't hold out much hope. Already Air America Radio seems marketing challeged. I've been trying to find out what station they'll be on in chicago but the info is nowhere on their pretty-much useless website. I sure hope enough real Americans get behind this and make it happen. Many are being brainwashed by a few that care nothing about our country and want total control. We can't let this happen. Four more years of George Bush would turn a mistake into a disaster. Posted by: NoName at March 31, 2004 12:10 PMAl Frankin wasn't funny on SNL and he isn't funny now. He is a loser. Don't get your hopes up. Posted by: Jim Krueger at March 31, 2004 12:44 PMAir America’s failure will not receive a fraction of media attention as its debut. Count on it. Posted by: Jerry at March 31, 2004 03:17 PMMy only hope and prayer, (yes, I said PRAYER, you Godless morons) is that all the Hollyweird rabble will sink their every penny, and available moment they have into this Good Ship Lollipoop, and the damn thing just sinks with such a thud, that another Democrat isn't elected for the rest of American history. The only party of hate is the Democrat party. We're gonna bloody your nose BAD in November. If you think 2000 went bad for you, just wait in a few months, you'll be in TRACTION, and I'm gonna come along and hit yer cast with a baseball bat. Posted by: Conan The Republican at March 31, 2004 04:01 PMOh, and another thing...Have a nice day, chumps! David Niewert has been writing at length about the growing violent and fascistic tendencies among the Republican right wing. And here we have our very own hypocritical ("you hate people; we're going to put you in traction") example on this little site. Imagine that. Posted by: J at March 31, 2004 04:27 PMI think that the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party missed the boat with Howard Dean. I've heard that Kerry's top 6 campaign contributers donated more to the Bush campaign. Posted by: barbra_bush_looks_like_the_quaker_oats_man at April 1, 2004 08:36 PMFranken is a riot! Very funny guy! I really enjoy listening to his show. Posted by: Kevin@TIV at April 3, 2004 03:46 PMKevin - be sure to read Lies and the Lying Liars; it's great. If you don't want to buy it, just go read the Wellstone chapter in the bookstore. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to any of Air America yet; alas.. Posted by: J at April 3, 2004 06:46 PMI love to listen to Al Franken.. It gives me the chance to catch up on any lost sleep I might have missed the night before....BORING, VERY BORING> Posted by: Big B at April 12, 2004 10:03 AMJ, thanks for the recomendation. I went straight from reading it to the amazon.com bar on the side of your blog and purchased a copy. I received it last week. Franken is an excellent writer. Some of it, like parts of the Wellstone chapter, evoke a profound sense of empathy with those who lost loved ones. Other parts left me laughing so friggin' hard that I was crying! He's got a way with potty humor - definitely a man's man kinda writer. I'm about 2/3 done with the book right now. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Even if you don't agree with his politics, he's a superb satirist who is good with words... Which I suppose he'd have to be in order to be worth a damn as a satirist. LOL Funny guy! Great book! Thanks for the recommendation! Posted by: Kevin@TIV at April 16, 2004 12:32 AMMan, Air America is stinking it up. No matter how much money is dumped into that black hole of a network, it will just collapse. Posted by: Reality at July 2, 2004 08:26 AMAl Frankens mailing address please !!!!!
